A War Profile is a quick reference card.
By using this information from a Service Record and putting it against Battle Dates related to your unit you start to get a better picture of the dates of when a soldier was in and out of battle.
This will help you save time when looking up Unit War Diaries which are records of day to day events of a unit and can be quite large documents.
Remember Service Records are pay books. When you were sick to hospital or on leave for example you received different pay that is why its recorded.

Black lines show change or transfer to another unit.
Orange shows time in Australia
Yellow shows time in Egypt.
Grey is when they are in the field of battle
Aqua is when they are out of field of battle
